Intro to Babysitting Class

Before you get your first babysitting job or take on the responsibility of watching younger siblings at home, come learn the basics of babysitting!

Who Can Participate: Teens ages 13-18

What We'll Do: Your two-day training will include:
  • Safety
  • Childcare basics
  • Supervising play
  • First Aid & CPR
  • Business skills

Why: This hands-on Intro to Babysitting class will equip you with the skills to keep younger children safe, create a positive environment, and respond to emergency situations. 

Training will be led in partnership by the Madison County Health Department, EMS, and 4-H. Participants will receive a certificate upon successful completion of the course.

When: May 31-June 1, 8:00am-12:00pm (Wednesday-Thursday)

Where: N.C. Cooperative Extension, Madison County Center

How to Register: 
  • Enroll as a 4-H member at 4-H Online then register through 4-H Online Events.
  • $40 registration fee can be paid by cash or check to Madison County 4-H.
  • Participants who can not afford to pay should contact Misty Varnell (below) to request a scholarship.
