Grow with 4-H This Summer
The Junior Master Gardener® program of North Carolina engages children in novel, ‘hands-on' learning experiences that provide a love of gardening, an appreciation for the environment, and experiences with growing, harvesting, preparing, and cooking foods with produce from the garden. It even includes a few local field trips!
Youth ages 8-13 can register through Events in 4-H Online!
Secure your spot with a registration fee of $50. Make checks payable to Madison County 4-H. This includes all supplies for the 9-week program, including a JMG® Youth Handbook. Scholarships may be available. Contact Misty Varnell at 828-649-2411 or email misty_varnell@ncsu.edu for more information.
New to 4-H? Join Madison County 4-H by enrolling at 4-H Online. Contact misty_varnell@ncsu.edu or 828-649-2411 if you have questions.
4-H Grows Life Skills
4-H Junior Master Gardeners® will learn how to grow their own food this summer! Equally important, they will learn how to prepare the produce they harvest. Through the experience of gardening with experts and taking local field trips, youth will learn about plant growth and development, soil and water conservation, ecology, insects, and landscape horticulture.
Upon completion of all required educational activities, youth will earn a JMG® Certification.
