The USDA has announced its 1890 National Scholars Program. Students can apply for a full scholarship to pursue a bachelor’s degree in agriculture, food, natural resource sciences, or a related discipline at one of nineteen 1890 Land Grant Universities.

High school seniors and college freshmen and sophomores can apply. Applicants must be a U.S. citizen and have an unweighted GPA of at least 3.0.

In addition to paying for college, the 1890 National Scholars Program guarantees a summer internship with the USDA, which may convert to full-time employment with the USDA after graduation.
