Girl under water in pool: I keep coming back because camp is fun...

There are few tools as powerful as the camp experience to positively impact the lives of young people. Whether it’s through nurturing social skills, building self-confidence, re-connecting kids with nature, or supporting positive peer to peer relationships, North Carolina 4-H Camp has the power to transform the lives of every child that walks through our doors.

Your child can look forward to a week of making new friends, swimming, horseback riding, archery, canoeing, rock climbing, games, campfires, sleeping in cabins, and much more. The life skills they learn at camp, including responsibility and independence, will help them in school, when they attend college, and in their first jobs.

Come Camp With Us!

Day Camping Program: Registration will open for Madison County 4-H Summer Fun day camps in April/May 2023, for day camps in June and July, 2023.

Residential 4-H Camp for 2023 is FULL (as of November, 2022). If you would like to add your child to the waiting list, contact misty_varnell@ncsu.edu.

Madison County 4-H will be camping at the Eastern 4-H Center June 25-30, 2023. Children ages 8-12 can attend traditional 4-H camp. Limited spaces are available for 13-14 year-olds in the Adventure and Trekker programs. The 4-H Camp tuition is $525, which is all-inclusive of your child’s six-day experience at an ACA-accredited camping center.

REGISTER EARLY! Reserve your space with a $75 deposit, non-refundable. Checks can be made payable to Madison County 4-H.

  • Deposits received by October 24th will receive a $25 discount on the remaining balance. IMPORTANT: Camp dates will not be confirmed until mid-November, so early bird deposits must have flexible summer dates.
  • If you’re interested but need to know camp dates before committing, please email misty_varnell@ncsu.edu.
  • If you’re interested but need financial assistance in order to attend, please email misty_varnell@ncsu.edu to request an application.
